Oregon High School football will wrap up their regular season with a non-conference game at home against Athens High School on Friday, October 25th.
This was the second time on Thursday that a team from the Big Northern Conference scheduled a non-conference game against a team from the Sangamo Conference. Earlier in the day, Williamsville High School announced they will host Byron in a Week 3 showdown.
Athens finished last year with a record of 11-3 and finished runner-up in the Class 2A championship game. Athens is a member of the Sangamo Conference. The Warriors had a Week 9 bye when Riverton High School announced in July that they would not be fielding a varsity football team this fall.
Oregon was originally scheduled to play Rockford Christian in Week 9 this year. So far, there’s been no official announcement as to why Rockford Christian won’t play at Oregon to finish the regular season.
